C19th Ceylon walut work box.
A good sized walnut box inlaid with ban dings of various timbers and a scene to the front, depicting a newly wedded couple in a sledged carriage carried by Oxonian and guided by two men dressed in traditional costume, I would think Sri Lankan or Ceylon in origin, the inside of the work box has a number of lidded compartments, the original key is also included.

34 x 21 x 10 cm
